Book of the Week – A Book of Seasons by New Zealander Dick Whyte
Dick Whyte is a poet from New Zealand who also plays music and makes films. He is the co-founder and editor of Haiku News with Laurence Stacey. There is an interesting biography of Whyte and his haiku, film and art interests by the New Zealand Poetry Society.
Another chapbook by Whyte in the digital library is A Book of Sparrows – Vol. 1
war in Syria—
how dare i write about
dandelions
poverty—
no matter where you go
the moon
summer moon,
a kind of longing only
the river knows
dusk—
the blackbird sings
even louder
