Book of the Week: Ikebana

Our Book of the Week is Ikebana, by the Romanian poet, Vasile Moldovan. As floral arrangements vary with the seasons, so Moldovan’s flower and plant haiku feature appropriate natural variations, arranged according to season. A collection about natural renewal that repays attention during these dark days.

Love story –
only a flower in the field,
and so many butterflies

Waiting for the suitors,
the heart of the amarylis
always wide open

Winter evening –
the copper beech’s leaves
lit by the snowfall
