2014 THF Fundraiser Release: A Reading by the Paideia School
We conclude our 2014 Fundraiser offerings with this THF Report, a reading by students of the Paideia School in Atlanta, Georgia, under the direction of Tom Painting.
This reading concluded the program of the Haiku Society of America meeting held 23 March 2014 in Atlanta. We think you’ll find the future of haiku is in good hands.
Please consider making a donation to The Haiku Foundation during our Fundraising Drive, November 27 – December 6. During this time only, every dollar you contribute is matched by an anonymous patron. Your money goes twice as far, and helps the Foundation continue its important work. Thank you.

Yes, a fantastic performance! And I was fortunate enough to view them in person at the SE Haiku Conference in Atlanta. Thank you, Tom for nurturing and encouraging the haiku spirits of these students. I hope to see and hear more from them in the future! Kanpai!
Wonderful to see and hear the poets. I am familiar with several of the poems, from either The Nicholas Virgilio Haiku Contest (which I judged with Mary Stevens in 2013) or the UNIS Students’ Haiku Contests, in which Paideia students have frequently placed in recent years. Yes, Tom Painting is clearly doing something right!
Wow. I’m really impressed. Tom Painting is obviously an outstanding teacher!
Bravo!! Encore!! I hope each of these young poets continue to write haiku and explore its rich mysteries. There were many poems shared here that I’d expect to see in some of our most respected haiku journals, and I hope to see their future work in those journals in the years ahead.
