2013 THF Fundraiser Release: THF Reports: American Haiku, the First ELH Journal
Today we have another THF Reports video of historic note for you: a panel discussion on the founding of the first American journal dedicated to English-language haiku, American Haiku.
Panelists include Gayle Bull, Don Eulert, Charles Trumbull and Jerome Cushman, moderater, assembled on the occasion of the Third Cradle of American Haiku Conference in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, in July 2012. Don was co-founder and co-editor of the journal in 1963; Gayle was the wife of the other co-founder and co-editor, Jim Bull, and was instrumental in its creation and production; Charles is perhaps the most respected historian of English-language haiku on the planet; and Jerome has been central to the creation of the Conference series in Mineral Point, near the town where he grew up.
The Haiku Foundation would like to thank the panel members for their participation in the THF Reports Series. We would also like to thank Gayle Bull, organizer of the Cradle of American Haiku Conference, for her continued service to haiku.
Please consider making a donation to The Haiku Foundation during our Fundraising Drive, November 28 – December 6. During this time only, every dollar you contribute is matched by an anonymous patron. Your money goes twice as far, and helps the Foundation continue its important work. Thank you.
