2013 THF Fundraiser Release: THF Reading: Bill Pauly, and a new Haiku Maven
Today’s new release is a reading by award-winning haiku poet Bill Pauly, filmed at the Third Cradle of American Haiku Conference, held in Mineral Point, Wisconsin in July, 2012.
Bill was a student of Raymond Roseliep in the 1960s, and has taught for more than two decades at Loras College in Dubuque. He has won several haiku awards, most notably the Harold G. Henderson Haiku Contest (Haiku Society of America).
Additionally we offer a new poser from the Haiku Maven. See the Maven’s blogpost in the blog below.
The Haiku Foundation would like to thank Bill Pauly for his participation in the THF Reading Series. We would also like to thank Gayle Bull, organizer of the Cradle of American Haiku Conference, for nonpareil hospitality and access to poets and space in her house. And, of course, we thank the Haiku Maven for continued clarity in the realm of the haiku world.
Please consider making a donation to The Haiku Foundation during our Fundraising Drive, November 28 – December 6. During this time only, every dollar you contribute is matched by an anonymous patron. Your money goes twice as far, and helps the Foundation continue its important work. Thank you.

Bill Pauly’s reading is excellent. His final poem on THF video resonated with me; I awarded that senryu 1st place in the 2007 HPNC Senryu Contest:
after the dentist/prying open/the oyster
I also appreciate the way Bill varied his reading by sharing his own thoughts about his poems with the viewers of this THF video.
Thanks for sharing your haiku Bill. I especially love ‘honeycomb’.
